Cassidy Lichtman
Chair, USA Volleyball
Volleyball player, coach, and sports executive known for her five-year tenure (2011–2016) on the U.S. Women’s National Team, where she earned multiple gold and silver medals at the Pan American Games, Pan American Cups, and NORCECA Championships. A standout at Stanford University from 2007–2010, she was a two-time AVCA First-Team All-American. Played professionally overseas in Poland, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, France, and China before retiring from the national team in 2016. She later returned in 2021 as a founding member of Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball, serving on its Board of Directors and winning the 2022 Civic Leadership Award. After retiring again in 2022, she became the league’s Director of Volleyball and was named one of AdWeek’s Most Powerful Women in Sports. Lichtman also founded the nonprofit P/ATH to promote empathy, equity, and empowerment in sports, and in 2026 was elected Chair of the USA Volleyball Board, becoming the youngest active board chair in the Olympic movement. Overcoming chronic leg pain since age nine, she remains a respected advocate for athlete development and gender equity in sports.
